Priory Rotary’s Satellite Club organised a fantastic Gourmet Tasting Evening of foods from around the world at South Wootton Village Hall on Saturday February 1st

Over 80 people enjoyed a wide-ranging selection of foods from India, Italy, Lithuania, Morocco, the Philippines, Poland, Singapore, the Sudan, Syria and Ukraine.

The food was very generously provided by Priory Rotary members and friends, who were only too pleased to wear national dress and showcase a selection of their national dishes.

The event was a fundraiser for the building of an Adaptive Sports Hub (ASH) at Lynnsport. A charity was set up to provide this base at Lynnsport to support those in the local community of West Norfolk, who need help in accessing  activities that will keep them fit, active and having fun.  The building will be fully accessible with first class changing facilities, space for adapted sports, a sensory room and a social area where the community can mix. Space will be rented out to local charities and organisations for example Little Discoverers, Little Miracles and the Pelican Hockey Club and  we hope a great variety more.  We look forward to welcoming people to the Hub in about 3 years time and local support is just what we need.

Katie Fisher, on behalf of ASH, thanked everyone who attended and contributed to the evening and said “The Priory Rotary Club provided a wonderful evening and we really appreciate their efforts in aid of this major project”.
